Privacy Policy

Last Updated: November 20, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how Bartosz Erbert ("we" or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our Chrome extension (the "Extension" or "Service"). By using the Extension, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Extension.

Information We Collect

We only collect personal data that is necessary to provide and improve the Service. This includes:

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password. If you sign up using Google authentication, we receive your Google account email. All passwords are stored in a hashed form for security (we never store plaintext passwords).

User Content

Any data you choose to save through the Extension (such as chat transcripts, prompts, notes, or other content from ChatGPT or webpages) will be collected and stored on our servers under your account. We do not collect any content unless you explicitly select it for saving.

Usage Data

The Extension may collect basic technical information automatically when you use it, such as your browser type and version, and log information (e.g. timestamps and IP address) when communicating with our servers. This data is collected to ensure the Service functions correctly and securely, and to help us debug issues if they arise. We do not use this data to identify you in ordinary use.

We do not collect any sensitive personal information such as your real name, physical address, payment details, or contacts. The only personally identifiable information we collect is your email address (for account purposes). We do not knowingly collect any data that is not needed for the functionality of the Extension.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

Provide and Maintain the Service

Your email and password (hash) are used to create and authenticate your account so you can securely log in. The content you save (your User Content) is stored and associated with your account so that you can access it whenever needed.

Sync and Access Your Saved Data

We store the data you explicitly save to enable you to access your saved chats/notes from the Extension across devices or sessions. We only use your content to provide it back to you upon request; we do not otherwise analyze or use your saved content.

Communication

We may use your email to send essential service-related communications, such as verification emails, password reset links, or important updates about the Extension. We will not send promotional or marketing emails without your consent.

Improvement and Development

We may review aggregated, non-identifying usage data (such as feature usage frequency or general usage trends) to improve our Extension's features and user experience. This analysis will never include personal details or the specific contents of your saved data.

Enforce Terms and Protect Security

Information (including IP addresses or usage logs) may be used to monitor for fraudulent or abusive activity, enforce our Terms of Use, and ensure the security and integrity of the Service.

Legal Compliance

If necessary, we may use or disclose information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or enforceable governmental requests (for example, to meet law enforcement requirements).

We will only use your personal data for the purposes above and will not use it for any unrelated purpose without your consent.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We respect your privacy. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties. Your data (email, saved content, etc.) is never shared with third-party companies or advertisers, except in the limited situations described here. In particular:

No Third-Party Marketing

We do not share your information with any third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Service Providers

We use a third-party hosting provider (DigitalOcean) to store databases and run our servers. This means your data is stored on DigitalOcean's servers, but it remains under our control. Our hosting provider may technically have access to stored data for maintenance purposes, but they are not permitted to use your data for anything other than providing us infrastructure services. We ensure any service providers are bound by confidentiality and strong security obligations.

Payments

If you choose to purchase a subscription or any paid service, payments are processed by our third-party payment processor (Stripe). Your payment information (such as credit card details) will be collected and processed directly by Stripe; we do not receive or store your sensitive payment details. Stripe is authorized to use your information only for the purpose of processing payments. We may receive limited information from Stripe (e.g., a payment confirmation, transaction ID, or subscription status) which we use to manage your account (for example, to know that you have paid and for how long your subscription is active). We do not share any more of your personal data with Stripe than is necessary for processing the transaction.

Integration with ChatGPT

The Extension may interact with OpenAI's ChatGPT website as part of its functionality (for example, to allow you to save chats). However, we do not send your personal information (such as your email or saved data) to OpenAI. When you use ChatGPT through our Extension, you are directly using a third-party service (OpenAI), which is governed by OpenAI's own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for data you provide to or receive from OpenAI's services.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if we determine in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or a legal process (for example, responding to a valid subpoena or request from law enforcement). If possible and lawful, we will attempt to notify you of such requests.

Business Transfers

In the event that our business or the Extension is ever transferred (for example, through a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets), user data (including personal information) may be part of that transfer. If that happens, we will ensure that the new owner continues to honor the commitments of this Privacy Policy. We will notify you (for example, via email or a notice on our site) of any change in data ownership or new use of your personal data.

Aside from the above situations, we do not share your personal data with any other third parties. Internally, access to user data is restricted to the extension operator (Bartosz Erbert) and authorized personnel (if any in the future) who need it to operate or support the Service. All such access is controlled, logged, and limited to what is necessary.

Data Storage and Security

We are committed to protecting your information. We take reasonable security measures to safeguard your data:

Secure Storage

All data you provide is stored on secure servers hosted by DigitalOcean in a controlled environment. We choose reputable cloud infrastructure and implement protections such as firewalls and access controls to prevent unauthorized access.

Encryption in Transit

Communications between the Extension and our servers are encrypted via HTTPS. This means that any data (like your login credentials or saved content) is encrypted while being transmitted, helping to prevent eavesdropping or interception by third parties.

Password Protection

As noted, we store passwords in a hashed format using industry-standard hashing algorithms, not in plain text. This protects your password even in the unlikely event of a data breach.

Access Controls

Only authorized individuals (the developer/maintainer) have direct access to the server and database where user information is stored. We use strong authentication, keys, and best practices to prevent unauthorized database access.

No Guarantee

Despite our efforts to secure information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information. However, we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data. In the event of any security breach that compromises your data, we will inform affected users as soon as possible and take all necessary steps in accordance with applicable laws.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law:

Account Data

We will keep your account information (email and hashed password) and any content you have saved for as long as your account remains active. This allows you to have continued access to your saved data across sessions.

User Content

Content that you save via the Extension will remain stored until you delete it or request its deletion. You are free to remove specific saved items (through the Extension's interface, if available) at any time, and such removed items will be deleted from our servers in the normal course of operations (subject to routine backups).

Backups

Our servers may keep backup copies of data for a limited duration for recovery purposes. If you delete data or request deletion, those items will be removed from active systems immediately, and then erased from backups in a reasonable time-frame. Backup data is kept only to ensure system integrity and will not be restored except for disaster recovery.

Account Deletion

If you choose to delete your account (or request us to do so on your behalf), we will delete or anonymize personal data associated with your account. This includes your email and all User Content saved under your account. Residual information may remain temporarily in backup media, but will be erased according to our backup retention schedule. Once your account is deleted and our backups cycle, your data cannot be recovered.

Legal Requirements

We may retain certain information if necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. For example, we may keep records of communications with you for customer service purposes or to defend legal claims. Such data will be kept only for the necessary duration and then deleted or anonymized when no longer needed.

Your Rights and Choices

As a user of our Extension and, in many cases, as a data subject under laws like the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have certain rights regarding your personal data. We are committed to providing you with control over your information. Your rights include:

Access and Portability

You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. We can provide you with your account information and any content you have saved. If you need it in a portable format (for example, to transfer to another service), we will do our best to accommodate that request.

Correction

If any personal information we have is inaccurate or outdated (for example, if you change your email address), you have the right to correct or update it. You can update certain information via the Extension or account settings (if available), or by contacting us directly.

Deletion (Right to Erasure)

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data. This can be accomplished by using any available account deletion function in the Extension or by contacting us to request removal of your data. As noted in the Data Retention section, deleting your account will remove your email and saved content from our active systems (subject to brief retention in backups). Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.

Withdrawal of Consent

In cases where our data processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. For example, if you no longer want us to collect any data, you can revoke your consent by simply uninstalling or disabling the Extension. Uninstalling the Extension will stop any further data collection by us. (Note that if you have an account with saved data, you may also want to delete your account to remove stored data as described above.)

Objection and Restriction

You have the right to object to certain processing or ask us to restrict processing of your data. For instance, if you believe we are processing your data unlawfully or beyond what is necessary, let us know and we will review and address your concern. You can also opt out of any non-essential data collection (though in our case, we do not perform any tracking beyond what is needed for service functionality).

Non-Discrimination

We will not deny you any service, charge you different prices, or provide a different level of service for exercising any of your rights. Exercising your privacy rights will not affect the core functionality you receive from the Extension, except as needed to fulfill your requests (for example, if you ask us to delete all your data, we will no longer be able to provide the data-sync feature).

Complaint

If you are located in the EU or another jurisdiction with similar regulations, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. For example, in the EU you can contact your local Data Protection Authority or the lead supervisory authority in Poland (where we are based) if you believe your rights under data protection laws have been infringed.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at our support email provided in the "Contact Us" section below. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests (for example, to ensure that it's actually you requesting access to your data). We will respond to your requests within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.

Children's Privacy

Our Extension and Service are not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years old. If you are under 13, please do not use the Extension or provide any personal information to us. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information as soon as possible.

If you are between 13 and 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you should use the Extension only with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian. Some countries may impose higher age thresholds for consenting to data processing (for example, under GDPR in some EU countries the age is 16 unless lowered by national law). If you are a minor, ensure that your use of our Extension is in compliance with any age-related legal requirements and that you have obtained parental consent if required.

Parents or guardians who believe that their child under 13 (or under the relevant age threshold in their country) may have created an account or provided personal data to us should contact us. We will promptly delete the child's personal information and terminate the child's account, if applicable.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update or revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users by an appropriate method – for example, by posting the updated Privacy Policy with a new effective date on our website or within the Extension interface, and/or by sending a notice to the email address associated with your account (if applicable). Any changes will be effective when posted unless stated otherwise. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy reflects the date of the most recent changes.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any updates. Your continued use of the Extension after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using the Extension and may request deletion of your data as described above.
